Hosting and essential functions

Netlify hosts and delivers this website. Serving a page involves processing technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. Netlify may process request and security information to deliver the website, prevent abuse, and maintain its services. See Netlify’s privacy statement.

The website may remember interface preferences, such as the selected light or dark theme and navigation position, in your browser’s local storage. These preferences are separate from advertising and analytics cookies. You can clear them through your browser settings.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find and use the website. Depending on your consent choices and browser settings, Google may process page URLs, referral information, approximate location, browser and device information, and interactions such as scrolling, outbound-link clicks, and PDF-link clicks.

Resume and thesis download events measure a click on the document link. They do not show whether you read the document or completed a download. I do not intentionally send names, email addresses, or the contents of messages to Analytics.

Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers when analytics storage is permitted. Where the consent message applies, Google Consent Mode communicates your choices to Google. When storage consent is denied, Google may still receive measurement requests without analytics cookies and may use aggregated modeling. Such requests are not the same as consenting to cookie-based tracking.

Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, and other websites take you to independently operated services with their own privacy policies. This website does not operate their accounts or control their data practices. Comments and embedded social-media/video players are currently disabled.

Retention, recipients, and international processing

Google and Netlify process information according to the relevant service settings and their own policies. Technical records, analytics information, consent records, and contact correspondence have different retention needs. Information is retained for the relevant measurement, consent-record, delivery, security, or correspondence purpose, subject to service settings and applicable requirements. I do not promise that third-party records disappear immediately when you clear your browser’s cookies.

These providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Their privacy policies describe their processing, retention, and transfer arrangements.
